All-Inclusive Rwanda Safari: At Anthill Safaris, we make Rwanda simple. Our all-inclusive safari packages bundle everything — gorilla trekking permits, accommodation, meals, transport, and expert guides — into one clear price. You stop worrying about logistics and start focusing on the experience. Whether you want to sit face-to-face with mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, track chimpanzees through Nyungwe Forest, or explore Akagera National Park on a classic game drive, we handle every detail. We offer packages across all budgets, from straightforward three-day gorilla treks to week-long luxury escapes.

What All-Inclusive Really Means

Our Rwanda packages typically range from $3,000 to $19,000 per person, depending on how long you travel, where you stay, and what activities you want to include. The biggest advantage of booking all-inclusive with us is simplicity. We coordinate every moving part so nothing falls through the cracks. You arrive, we take over.

What Your Package Covers

The highest single cost in any Rwanda safari is the gorilla trekking permit — currently $1,500 per person for international visitors. We include this in your package price, so there are no surprises. Beyond the permit, your package covers full-board accommodation with breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day. We also include a private 4×4 safari vehicle and an experienced driver-guide for all transfers between destinations. Park entrance fees, professional guiding, airport pickups and drop-offs, and conservation contributions are all part of the package, too. In short, you pay once and travel freely.

Choosing Your Safari Style

Budget Safaris — $2,500 to $3,500

If you want the gorilla trekking experience without the luxury price tag, our budget packages are a great starting point. A typical three-day package places you in clean, comfortable guesthouses like Kinigi Guesthouse or Muhabura Hotel. These properties sit close to the park, which means you’re ready for early morning treks without long drives. The focus is on the wildlife, and the wildlife never disappoints,s regardless of what kind of bed you sleep in.

Mid-Range Safaris — $3,500 to $5,500

Our mid-range packages offer the best balance of comfort and value. Over seven days, you stay in well-appointed lodges like Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel or Mountain Gorilla View Lodge. You travel in a private vehicle, enjoy better dining, and receive more personalised attention from your guide. These itineraries often combine multiple parks and activities, giving you a richer picture of Rwanda as a whole.

Luxury Safaris — $5,500 to $8,000

Luxury packages take the experience to another level entirely. You stay at exceptional properties like Bisate Lodge, Singita Kwitonda, or One&Only Gorilla’s Nest — each one designed to blend beautifully into the surrounding landscape. Gourmet meals, spa facilities, and fully customised itineraries come as standard. Your guide adjusts the pace around your preferences, not the other way around.

Ultra-Luxury Private Safaris — $8,000 to $12,000

At the top of our range, ultra-luxury packages give you a completely private Rwanda experience. You have a dedicated vehicle, a dedicated guide, and an itinerary built entirely around you. We arrange every detail — including, for some packages, private helicopter transfers between parks. These safaris suit travellers who want absolute comfort and complete flexibility.

Popular Itineraries We Recommend

Three-Day Gorilla Trek — Our most booked option. It focuses entirely on one gorilla trek in Volcanoes National Park. We include accommodation near the park entrance, all meals, and airport transfers. It works well for travellers with limited time who still want a genuine, moving wildlife encounter.

Five-Day Rwanda Highlights — This itinerary adds chimpanzee tracking in Nyungwe Forest and a Kigali city tour, including the genocide memorial. Five days give you enough time to appreciate both Rwanda’s biodiversity and its extraordinary history.

Seven-Day Complete Rwanda Tour — Our most comprehensive Rwanda package. You trek gorillas, track chimpanzees, encounter golden monkeys, drive through Akagera National Park for Big Five sightings, and relax along the shores of Lake Kivu. This itinerary shows you Rwanda in full.

Ten-Day Rwanda–Uganda Combo — We combine gorilla trekking in both Rwanda and Uganda, game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park, and a range of cultural experiences across both countries. This cross-border itinerary is ideal for travellers who want more wildlife variety and a deeper regional perspective.

How to Save on Your Rwanda Safari

Timing your trip well makes a significant difference to the overall cost. During the low seasons — March to May and November — gorilla permit fees drop from $1,500 to just $500 per person. Lodges also offer discounts of 30 to 50 percent during these months. You still see gorillas. You just pay much less to do it.

A few other smart approaches: book your permit 6 to 12 months in advance to secure availability, consider joining a small group tour rather than a fully private safari, travel during shoulder seasons when prices sit between peak and low rates, and consider adding Uganda to your trip, where gorilla permits cost $700 compared to Rwanda’s standard $1,500.

When to Visit

All-Inclusive Rwanda Safari: The best conditions for Rwanda safaris fall between June and September, and again from December to February. These dry months bring less rain, firmer trails, and clearer skies — all of which make gorilla trekking more comfortable and photography much easier. That said, gorillas are present year-round, and we run successful treks in every season.

Getting There

Most of our packages begin with your arrival at Kigali International Airport, served by RwandAir, Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, and Brussels Airlines, among others. From Kigali, the drive to Volcanoes National Park takes roughly two and a half to three hours through Rwanda’s beautiful rolling hills. We include this transfer in every package.
