All-Inclusive Uganda Chimpanzee Trekking Safaris: At Anthill Safaris, we design our all-inclusive Uganda chimpanzee trekking safaris to give you a seamless, stress-free adventure. We handle every detail so you can focus on what truly matters — watching our closest living relatives move through the forest. From securing your permits to arranging meals, transport, and expert guides, we take care of everything. Most of our itineraries combine chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park with game drives, nature walks, and cultural visits, giving you a full picture of Uganda’s incredible wildlife and people.

What “All-Inclusive” Actually Means

When Anthill Safaris calls a package all-inclusive, we mean one upfront price covers almost everything you need. However, every operator defines this slightly differently, so we always share a clear list of what we include and what we don’t. Understanding this before you book helps you budget confidently and avoid surprises on the road.

What We Include

Chimpanzee Trekking Permits

We include your trekking permit in every chimpanzee safari package. These permits are mandatory and can be very hard to get, especially during peak season. We book them months in advance through the Uganda Wildlife Authority, so your dates are secured. Standard permits give you one hour with a habituated chimpanzee community. Habituation experience permits offer a full day with a group still going through the habituation process. Either way, the cost is already built into your package price.

Accommodation

We include lodging for every night of your safari. We offer options across all budget levels. Budget packages feature clean, comfortable guesthouses. Mid-range packages upgrade you to well-positioned lodges with better facilities. Luxury packages place you in premium eco-lodges with stunning forest views, gourmet food, and personalised service. We choose each property based on its location close to trekking sites, so you spend less time travelling and more time exploring.

Full Board Meals

We provide breakfast, lunch, and dinner throughout your safari. Before morning treks, your lodge serves a hot breakfast or prepares a packed one for very early starts. On full-day excursions, we provide packed lunches with sandwiches, fruit, snacks, and hot drinks. Dinners are usually the highlight — multi-course meals featuring fresh, locally sourced Ugandan ingredients. The quality of food rises with your accommodation level, and we always accommodate dietary needs.

Beverages

Most packages include water, soft drinks, tea, and coffee. We provide generous amounts of bottled water since staying hydrated during forest hikes in Uganda’s heat is essential. Mid-range and luxury packages typically also include local beers, house wines, and standard spirits with meals. Premium imported drinks and top-shelf spirits usually cost extra. We always spell out exactly what is and isn’t included when you book.

Private Ground Transportation

We transport you in a private, well-maintained 4×4 safari vehicle from the moment you arrive at Entebbe International Airport. Our vehicles are typically Toyota Land Cruisers with pop-up roofs for game viewing and photography. Because the vehicle is exclusively yours, we move at your pace. Want to stop for a photo? No problem. Your driver-guide stays with you throughout the entire trip, building familiarity with your interests along the way. All fuel, insurance, and driver costs are included — no surprise charges for Uganda’s long drives to remote parks.

Guided Activities and Park Fees

Beyond chimpanzee trekking, we include a range of guided activities. Nature walks, birding excursions, and boat safaris — such as the popular Kazinga Channel cruise in Queen Elizabeth National Park — are common inclusions. Uganda is home to over 1,000 bird species, and our guides know exactly where to find the rarest ones. We also cover all park entrance fees listed in your itinerary, saving you the hassle of paying at each gate.

Cultural and Community Visits

We believe a great safari goes beyond wildlife. That’s why many of our packages include visits to local communities and cultural sites. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary near Kibale is a favourite — a community-managed project offering excellent birding and primate sightings while directly funding local schools and clinics. Some itineraries also include visits to Batwa pygmy communities, where you learn about traditional forest lifestyles and support indigenous heritage. These experiences add real depth to your time in Uganda.

What We Don’t Include

International and Domestic Flights

We don’t include flights from your home country to Entebbe. You book those independently. Domestic flights within Uganda are also excluded by default, though we can add them to your itinerary for an extra cost — a worthwhile upgrade on longer routes.

Visa Fees

Most visitors need a Ugandan tourist visa, currently $50 for single entry. You apply online or on arrival. If you’re combining Uganda with Kenya and Rwanda, the $100 East Africa Tourist Visa is a smart option. Either way, visas are your own expense.

Gratuities

Tips are not included, but they matter enormously to the guides, rangers, drivers, and lodge staff who make your safari exceptional. General guidelines are $10–15 per day for your driver-guide, $10 per trek for rangers and trackers, and $5–10 per day shared among lodge staff. These are suggestions, not rules — always tip based on your experience.

Optional Extras and Personal Expenses

Activities outside your standard itinerary — hot air balloon rides, Nile rafting, spa treatments — come at an additional cost. Personal shopping, laundry, and internet access are also excluded. Uganda’s markets are full of wonderful crafts and textiles, so budget a little extra for souvenirs.

Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers medical emergencies, evacuation, trip cancellation, and adventure activities. Medical evacuation from Uganda’s remote parks can be extremely expensive without coverage.
