Arrival at Kigali International Airport – Transfer to Hotel

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will complete customs and immigration procedures. A friendly Anthill Safaris guide will warmly welcome you to Rwanda, the “land of a thousand hills.” You will then drive to Hotel des Mille Collines for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 1 / 5 Days

Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After an early breakfast, check out of the hotel and head to the Western province. En route, visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in the Southern province. These visits offer insights into traditional Rwandan life and the historical leadership of their kingship. Enjoy lunch along the way. Arrive at Nyungwe National Park in the afternoon, where you can relax and enjoy the hotel amenities.

Day 2 / 5 Days

Nyungwe Forest – Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk Adventures

Start your day with an early-morning cup of African coffee. Depart your hotel to explore Nyungwe National Park, known for its 13 primate species. After a briefing, embark on an exciting chimpanzee trekking adventure. Spend one hour observing the chimpanzees once you find them.

After the trek, have lunch and then proceed to the canopy walk. This 70-meter-high suspended bridge provides breathtaking views of Nyungwe Forest. On lucky days, you might spot more primates during the walk. Return to the hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3 / 5 Days

Colobus Monkey Trek and Tea Plantation Visit – Lake Kivu – Gisenyi

After breakfast, head back to the park for a briefing before searching for colobus monkeys. Capture as many photos as you wish upon finding them. Return for lunch, then check out of the hotel. Visit the Gisakura Tea Gardens to learn about tea cultivation, harvesting, and processing.

Take stunning photos before driving to Lake Kivu, enjoying the scenic countryside views. On arrival, relax and prepare for the night-fishing experience with local fishermen. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Paradis Malahide Hotel.

Day 4 / 5 Days

Transfer Back to Kigali and Departure

Enjoy a relaxed breakfast before embarking on a boat cruise to witness the sunrise over Lake Kivu. The boat ride allows you to explore the lake’s beautiful attractions. Take a nature walk on one of the islands, home to thousands of bats. Lake Kivu is a birding paradise, hosting species like cormorants, pied kingfishers, weaver birds, and herons.

Later, drive back to Kigali and transfer to the airport for your departure. We look forward to welcoming you on your next visit.
