Start your adventure with a historical city tour in Kigali. Visit important sites such as the Kigali Genocide Memorial Site, where over 259,000 genocide victims are buried. Explore Kigali Solaire, Stade Régionale, and the Dr. Richard Kandt Museum. Learn about the first German explorer in Kigali and the Belgian camp, where ten Belgian UN soldiers were killed during the genocide. After lunch, travel to Bugesera and visit the Reconciliation Village, where genocide survivors and perpetrators live together peacefully. Explore the genocide churches at Nyamata and Ntarama, where thousands of innocent people lost their lives.

After breakfast, head to Volcanoes National Park for the much-anticipated gorilla trekking experience. Before trekking, complete the park’s requirements. Once you find the gorillas, you will be allowed to observe them for an hour. It’s an incredible experience to be so close to these gentle giants. Trekking through the lush alpine forest of the Virunga slopes is both challenging and rewarding. In some cases, it may take the whole day to find the gorilla families, especially in muddy conditions. After the trek, return to Kigali.
