At 9:00 am, our guide will pick you up from your hotel in Gisenyi. After meeting the guide, you will proceed to Cyangugu, where you will cross the border between Goma and Gisenyi. From here, enjoy a three-hour boat ride on Lake Kivu, a picturesque lake in the Albertine Rift. Lake Kivu, located along the border of Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo, flows into the Ruzizi River.
After arriving in Bukavu, check into Hotel New Riviera, a budget-friendly hotel located in the town. Spend the afternoon resting and enjoying the serene surroundings. Later in the evening, you will have dinner and receive a detailed briefing from the guide about the next day’s activities.

Wake up early at 5:30 am to prepare for your big day. Breakfast will be served at 6:00 am, and by 6:30 am, you will depart for the park gate. The drive to Kahuzi-Biéga National Park takes about an hour. Upon arrival, your guided trek will begin, leading you through the dense forest to encounter lowland gorillas.
The trek typically lasts 3-4 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location that day. Witnessing these majestic creatures in their natural environment is an extraordinary experience.
