Each standard gorilla permit costs USD 800 per person for foreign non-residents. Foreign residents pay USD 700 per person. Visitors from other African countries pay USD 500 per person. Ugandan nationals and East African citizens pay UGX 300,000. To buy out an entire gorilla family for a private group, the permit cost alone is USD 6,400. Mgahinga is about 510 kilometers from Kampala, a roughly 9- to 10-hour drive. You can also fly from Entebbe to Kisoro Airfield and then drive about 14 kilometers to the park entrance at Ntebeko. Like Bwindi, Mgahinga is also accessible from Kigali in around four to five hours.
