When you get to the airport, the guide assigned to you for the whole trip will be there to help you. You’ll be driven to stay overnight in Bujumbura.
Have breakfast and then take a short drive to Rusizi National Park. You’ll see hippos, sitatungas (antelope), and many birds in the wetland. After lunch, relax at your hotel.
After an early breakfast, head south to see the “Chutes de la Kagera” or the impressive “Kagera Falls.” In the afternoon, travel to Gitega to explore the Burundi National Museum. Return to your hotel for dinner.
Enjoy breakfast and visit the grave of Prince Louis Rwagasore, a Burundi independence hero. Then, climb to the “Belvedere” for a great view of Bujumbura and have lunch. Drive south to visit “La Pierre de Stanley et Livingstone,” the stone marking where Stanley met Dr. Livingstone.
After breakfast, drive to Ruvubu National Park, the largest protected area in northern Burundi. It offers excellent hiking opportunities and stunning views. Return to the hotel for dinner.
